The world is opening

Welcome back everyone!

The world has finally opened up again. My partner and I are dusting off our passports and heading to fiji. We are so excited !

Bula !

On our day of arrival there was endless champange and welcoming vibes from the beautiful fijian people.

We felt so welcomed and excited for the next 2 weeks to come.

We went for a walk along the beaches of Denarau Island. Everything moves very slow in fiji…. Fijian time is definitely an accurate statement and we love it!

I highly recommend getting the Bula bus pass ! This is a fun, constantly running jump on jump off bus service around the island.

Our first day trip is to the South Sea Island. It was blue skies and aqua waters for as far as the eye could see.

We had arrived in paradise.

My Luck, a "spotted eagle ray" The spotted eagle ray is hunted by a wide variety of sharks. The rays are considered near threatened on the IUCN Red List.

Our second day trip was to Malamala beach club. This place was magical. A whole island was dedicaticated to this club.

Cocktails were constantly flowing and the watersports where out of this world. We loved snorkeling and kayaking in the crystal clear aqua water.

A day away from the beach and into the rainforest at the Sleeping Giant zip line an eco-friendly adventure park. It features zip lines, waterfalls and a jungle walk. Hidden deep in the lush green forest just 20 mins from Nadi.

The island hopping begins,

Our first stop Oarsman’s Bay lodge located in the remote Yasawa Islands. A five hour boat ride from port Denarau it’s the second last island of the group called Nacula island

Our Oarsman’s Bay lodge score;

  • Food: 8/10

  • Cocktails: 2/10

  • Snorkeling: 5/10 (go on the left side reef)

  • Beach: 8/10

We did a little adventure and made our way to the Sawa-I-Lau caves a series of limestone caverns hollowed out by waves. The entrance cuts thru to the sky. There’s a small gap in the first pool where you need to dive under rocks to find the dark cave system (word of advice bring a waterproof torch).

Onto our second island hop was the Barefoot Manta island resort, located on the Drawaqa Island, with breath-taking coral gardens are among the finest we have ever seen.

Our Barefoot Manta island score;

  • Food: 3/10

  • Cocktails: 9/10

  • Snorkeling: 9/10

  • Beach: 6/10

Our third island hop was to Barefoot Kuata resort, located on the Kuata Island, is where you come across sharks an all big fish, if you looking for excitement in scuba diving they offer dives with bull sharks here and reef sharks for the not so brave aka me..
